Shelly Tsirulik | Freshman or sophomore summer opportunities, Working with non-profit organizations. I worked as a camp counselor at a Jewish sleep away camp, where I was both a bunk counselor and a frisbee coach. I love that job so so so so so much, and I'm going back this summer, and I'd love to talk to people to convince them to do what makes them happy, not just pursue corporate jobs because it's what they feel that they have to do. | 2020
Elena Monge Imedio | Freshman or sophomore summer opportunities, Internships at firms that do not come to recruit on campus I was a merchandising intern at Adidas' Global HQ in Germany. It is a paid position so you don't have to finance it; they take freshmen and sophomores so it can be a stepping stone towards a consulting internship junior year and it is a fun, supporting environment. It can be a particularly good idea for international students without US work authorisation who are struggling to get an internship. | 2018
Jennifer Hu | Freshman or sophomore summer opportunities, Research opportunities I was an intern at the Stanford Center for the Study of Language and Information. It is an amazing program funded by the NSF and completely changed my research interests. It would benefit both younger and older students, since it offers a lot of training seminars as well as opportunities to publish. | 2018 |
