Hi Mather! My name is Rayan, and I’m a PhD candidate at MIT where I study cancer metabolism. My family is originally Sudanese, and I grew up in Doha, Qatar before moving back to the U.S. for college. I’m passionate about using science and discovery to advance health equity, and I’m always happy to chat/advise on STEM, research, graduate school, or navigating academic life as someone with broad interests both in and outside the lab. 

Outside of academics, I love wandering through Boston’s coffee shops, collecting new books (Octavia Butler is a forever favorite), group workouts, and finding joy and community in Boston’s many diasporic and multicultural communities!
