Current Work:  MD/PhD candidate at HMS/MIT. Thesis training with the Program in Neuroscience (HMS) in the Lipton lab (BCH). I am interested in biological rhythms and the molecular underpinnings of sleep; in particular, I am working on identifying the role of circadian proteins in synaptic transmission and sleep/wake timing

Hello Mather friends! I am excited to be a returning tutor in this good house, and I’m looking forward to spending it with you. I’m currently an MD/PhD candidate and am in the midst of my PhD training in neuroscience. Previously, I studied at Widener University, where I first developed a love for research (yes, it's the same Widener). After graduating I did some clinical shadowing in Belize and then found myself moving to Boston to work as a research technician in neurogenetics/neurodevelopment. It was around that time I met my now husband, Steve, and also started working with a lot of undergraduates like you! When I am not being a lab rat, I am hiking/camping in White Mtns, reading fiction, doing the nyt crossword, playing the piano, practicing Spanish speaking/reading, cooking/eating a meal with good friends, playing video games or binging Rick & Morty with Steve. I also am the mom of two adorable and pesky kittens, Maisel & Morty. The two things I look forward to every day are doing some yoga and pulling that perfect cuppa espresso ;) I’m looking forward to getting to know you and working together to make this a good year for the Mather fam.
