Keith Raffel

Keith moved into Mather when it opened during his sophomore year, and he’s back again as a resident scholar. Since graduation from law school, he’s been lucky in finding fulfilling jobs even while not following anything resembling a traditional career track. So far, he’s watched over the CIA as counsel to the Senate Intelligence Committee, run for Congress, founded an internet software company, managed a DNA sequencing business, co-taught a Harvard course on technology policy, and published five novels. This year, Keith plans to continue writing his syndicated weekly newspaper column, to finish the umpteenth draft of a historical novel, and to moderate panel discussions for aspiring writers and Hollywood types at Harvard’s Center for Career Success. Keith relishes discussing novel-writing, Washington politics, the importance of the humanities, Silicon Valley life, artificial intelligence, law school, Bay Area sports teams, and lots more over meals in the Mather D-Hall. He and his wife Teri have four grown children who, from afar, watch their parents’ current collegiate gig in open-mouthed amazement.
