Hi Mather! I'm Alex, a current 4th year in Harvard’s Biophysics PhD program. I currently study how B-cells and antibodies evolve (yes, they do evolve!) in Michael Desai's lab in the Organismal and Evolutionary Biology (OEB) and Physics departments. While I'm originally from a rural county in New Jersey, I did my undergrad just down the street at MIT in Biological Engineering (Course 20). I've been in Cambridge for far too long, so I’m happy to share a restaurant recommendation/Red line story or two.

Outside the lab, I’m learning to figure skate with Harvard’s Figure Skating Club, running along the Charles, and tending to my too-many plants.

If you have questions — whether about grad school, biology research, or exploring career paths — please don’t hesitate to reach out.
