Mather Resident tutors in fellowships:
Mather Non-Resident tutors in fellowships:

There are hundreds of fellowships, grants and scholarships available to students with thoughtful plans for purposeful activities and a little motivation. The goal of the Mather Fellowships Office is to assist Mather students in targeting the right fellowships for fulfilling their academic or personal goals--whether study abroad, travel for personal growth, or domestic or international public service--and to help students craft the most competitive fellowships applications they can.

The Fellowships office is led by Jacob Chacko. He should be your first point of contact when seeking advising on applying for fellowships. We also have several resident and non-resident Fellowships Advisors, who all have specific areas of academic and fellowships experience. To help us help you get the most out of the fellowships opportunities available, you should do the following:

Step 1. *First* read the Harvard College Guide to Grants and its Harvard Supplement (both are available in print at OCS and at the Mather Library; the supplement is online at the OCS website [http://www.ocs.fas.harvard.edu/students/fellowships/supplement.htm]). If you are interested in finding funding for international travel or study, you may find the Funding Sources for International Experience database [http://www.funding.fas.harvard.edu] helpful as well.

Step 2. *Make sure*. that you have looked at the resources listed in Step 1.

Step 3. *After* you have identified potential fellowships from these sources, please email Jacob (jchacko@mba2008.hbs.edu) who will either work directly with you or arrange for you to be paired up with one of the other fellowships tutors to help you get the most out of the fellowships application process.

Please note:The Fellowships Office at OCS is the main resource for fellowships-related information at Harvard. They have a very useful website [http://www.ocs.fas.harvard.edu/students/fellowships.htm] with listings of fellowships by application due date, the Harvard College Supplement to the Guide to Grants, a calendar of fellowships and grants-related events, and more useful information. They also run information sessions for students throughout the year about various large fellowship competitions. If you have questions about the logistics of applying for fellowships - deadlines, eligibility, where to pick up or turn in applications, how many recommenders you need, etc. - please direct those questions to the OCS Fellowships Office.
